This series is inspired by the fact that I took the year 2020 to start my process of self-knowledge. At first, I felt overwhelmed and, at the same time, inspired by this new experience.
Most of my previous projects dealt with so many things but now it is totally different. When the quarantine came, I decided to look at that moment as an opportunity to get to know myself better. At the beginning it was hard, because of my emotions due to the pandemic situation and also because I was far from my family. Also, it was strange but it was also liberating and it ended up helping me a lot to understand who I am and to grow as a person.
Halfway through the process, I started to feel that in the past I didn't express myself as I really wanted to through photography, and now with this series I am striving to build a deeper connection between me and my art. This project for me represents the process of self-knowledge and self-reflection that I went through and is a way of describing myself as a human being, portraying the internal states of mind that I am going through during this time. Also, this series reflects my dreams, desires, my talent… my purpose in life.
However, my aim is to allow my photographs to be open for interpretation, so that any person could connect to my images on a subconscious level and discover their own meaning.
